The Zeta Charitable Foundation presented its Annual Scholarship Awards to the Following Students at Xi Zeta Chapter’s Annual Community Awards Program Honoring Unsung Heros in the Community on Sunday, March 25, 2024
Zeta Charitable Foundation in Collaboration with Xi Zeta Chapter, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. presented Scholarship Awards to six young women at the Sorority’s Annual Community Unsung Heroes Awards Program. A program which honors those individuals in the community who work tirelessly without recognition.

Moet McFall Moet Mcfall will be graduating from Collinsville High School in May 2014.She has been accepted at several colleges and universities but plans to attend Tennessee State University to study Veterinary Medicine.She is described as extremely well organized and detailed oriented in her approach to tasks with the determination to excel in her chosen career path.Moet is involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities, from volunteering at a homeless shelter, to chairing the youth ministry at her church, and as a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.’s Archonette Club.
Dominique Williams Dominique Williams is a senior at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School and will graduate in May of 2014.Dominique has been accepted at many colleges and universities but plans to attend Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville and will major in Biology (pre-dentistry).She has been described as a natural leader and is currently the Vice-President of the National Honor Society, Senior Leadership Class.In addition to this leadership role, Dominique also volunteers with the Girl Scouts of America, Humane Society, and Operation Brightside.
2013 Scholarship Recipients
Kennedy Nicole McAlister Kennedy Nicole McAllister will be graduating from Incarnate Word Academy in May 2013. She has been accepted at several colleges but plans to attend Tennessee State University to study speech and language therapy.
Kennedy is described as a very goal oriented person who is serious about her education. She sees education as a path to success in life. She is viewed as a natural leader and exhibits this characteristic in whatever she undertakes. At school she has served as a Family Leader, Vice President of the Ethic Awareness Club, served on the Leadership Advisory Council and been a Peer Leader as well as a class officer. Her extracurricular activities at school include being a cheer leader and participating in track and field activities. Her community volunteer work includes the We Win organization, YMCA Monsanto "Y" and the Hazelwood Central Early Childhood Center.
Nabari Gloria Kence Nabari attends Webster Groves High School. She resides with her parents and brother. Nabari was the Foundation's Dorothy Z. Edwards Awardee. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Xi Zeta Chapter. Nabari's scholarship was made possible through the generous donations made in Mrs. Edwards' name when she died in 2012. Nabari is described by her teachers as a "Natural Leader"; "A Standout Among Students." She has received numerous awards during her high school career, including the Webster Challenge Award, Renaissance Award and Scholar Athlete Award. Her academic achievements include taking honors classes and advance placement classes for most of her academic career. Her numerous extra-curricular activities include being part of the school's HI Step Program, the Sky is the Limit Program and being a gifted hurdler in track and field. She participates in the school's Chamber Choir and the band and according to her mentor, her musical talent is phenomenal.
After Graduation Nabari plans to attend Creighton University in Bloomington, Ill. She will be majoring in economics, with her goal being to educate herself in order to learn how to tackle the world's problems globally.
Demi Lewis Demi currently attends Kirkwood High School. She will be graduating in May of 2013 and plans to attend Howard University. She resides with her parents and a sister. Demi is described by her teachers as an "excellent student who strives to do her best and is persistent and enthusiastic."
Demi has received numerous recognitions including membership in the National Honor Society, Advance Placement Award, High Academic Honor Roll, African American Achievement Award and the Kirkwood Academic Letter Award just to name a few. Her extracurricular and athletic activities include leadership roles in the Link Crew, The Black Achievement and Cultural Club and participation in the school's athletics as a manager for the Girl's Varsity Track and Field team. She has been involved in advance placement classes throughout her high School career and plans to attend Howard University in their accelerated two year Bachelors' program. After graduation, her plans are to apply to medical school in order to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a pediatrician.
Maisha Harlan Maisha Harlan attends Parkway South Sr. High School. Maisha is viewed by those who interact with her at Parkway South Sr. High School as a person who displays commitment to whatever tasks she undertakes. She is viewed as a "hard working, tenacious, caring and dedicated individual." Because of her attitude, she received the South Star Award at school for her outstanding attendance, dedication to maintain good academic standing and concern for others. Her commitment and excitement as well as her ability to motivate other members of the Parkway South High School Step Team Program was viewed as commendable. As a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority's Archonette Youth Auxiliary Group, she has provided leadership in her roles as both Vice President and President of the group. Her other community activities include working in the community through her church. Maisha plans to major in Psychology and attend Central Missouri State University.
2012 Scholarship Recipients
Myia L. Croft Myia is a graduate of Webster Groves High School. While at Webster Groves High School she was involved in many school activities and was the recipient of various awards including: the Webster Challenge Award, Renaissance Award, and Scholar Athlete Award. She graduated with a GPA of 3.6. She is currently enrolled at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale pursuing her dream of becoming an Interior Designer.
Nikkia Lomax Nikkia is a graduate of Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in St. Louis City, graduating with a 3.63 GPA. Nikkia is currently enrolled at Harris-Stowe State University majoring in business with an ultimate goal of owning her on Fashion Design Company. While at VPA, she was active in several clubs and viewed by her teachers as " a hard working student with drive and the determination to succeed." Her main community service was done as a member of the Archonette Youth Group of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Devin Moore Devin is a graduated of Webster Groves High School and graduated with a GPA of 3.2. While at Webster Groves High School, she was a member of and held leadership roles in many organizations. Receiving numerous awards including the Prudential Spirit Award, and Nestle Very Best in Youth Award just to name a few. Her community service experiences included volunteering with Top Teens of America, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and 100 Black Men. She is currently attending Howard University in Washington D.C. majoring in Communications. Because of her love of music, her ultimate goal is to become a sound engineer.
2011 Scholarship Recipients
Candie Hill, an athlete and student of cultural studies, was provided a scholarship through The Zeta Charitable Foundation so that she can one day have the necessary skills to travel abroad and assist, as well as, relate to other cultures and their needs. She envisions herself as an international athlete, who is bilingual and culturally diverse. The Zeta Charitable Foundation has helped Candie embark upon her “successful future”.
Lauren Wiley, vocally talented and a determined goal setter, was provided a scholarship through The Zeta Charitable Foundation to pursue her education at The University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she plans to enter the Nursing program and obtain an advanced degree. The Zeta Charitable Foundation supports young women like Lauren who are proud of their current accomplishments and strive for more.
